At the customer
premises, the UltraConnect
security communicator captures alarms from the customer’s
alarm system using DTMF, modem, serial
or pins. These alarms are forwarded
over an encrypted channel to the UHS
UltraAgent server.
Alarms are then forwarded to a security
company’s monitoring software.
Ademco685, Surgard and SIA Automation
receiver protocols are supported.
The UltraAgent server polls the UltraConnect
units over all available paths to
verify the communication channel.
Polling rates are configurable on
a per interface basis. Typically a
faster rate is used on the wireline
(eg IP or ADSL) interface and a slower
rate on the wireless (eg GPRS) interface.
If the polling fails on the wireline
interface, the rate is increased on
the wireless interface to maintain
the grade of service..
